A huge thank you to our work family
On Saturday 15th October, we had the absolute pleasure of inviting all 170 staff, plus partners, to the stunning De Vere Wokefield Estate – an 18th century Mansion House set in 250 acres of Berkshire beauty.
The reason? To simply say thank you.
After two difficult years through Covid – and none of the usual Christmas parties able to take place, it was just fantastic to bring our work family back together again.
I started the evening with a short speech – focusing on thanking individual members of the team that made this whole event possible, and then expressing our sincere thanks to the whole team – and their loved ones. After all, they have supported our employees when we asked them to stay away – or go the extra mile. We wanted to show each and every one of them just how valued and appreciated they are.
Our work family really has stepped up in our time of need. When Covid hit the world, our entire business adapted and worked tirelessly throughout – and the strength of this business allowed us to support those who needed it. And we thankfully managed to retain all of our staff – not a single furlough in sight – or the need to rely on any government funding.
Why? Because the team delivered when it mattered.
- From our various admin support teams across four businesses – who adapted and embraced remote working technology or shift changes within the offices to ensure we kept moving forward.
- Our management, sales and compliance teams – who travelled to various locations to source emergency supplies, and continued to maintain and support our client relationships so that they had peace of mind, and their life safety systems remained operational. Bearing in mind, many of our competitors had just chosen to shutdown and furlough all staff.
- Our large engineering team – who continued to work throughout: including going to Covid hospitals and challenging environments, but we supported them with PPE – and they supported the whole company.
I look back now over the last two years in total amazement of what we managed to achieve…together. Despite a global pandemic and huge uncertainty around the world, it has been an enormous success story. Senseco alone recorded an incredible 20% growth from 2021 to 2022 and the group business also concluded three acquisitions – bringing sprinklers, suppression and remote monitoring into the group.
Our first acquisition, which concluded at the height of Covid was challenging, but has proven successful. Despite the impossible circumstances of having to wear masks and not being able to shake hands, we managed to embrace this team of new people, communicate that everything was going to be okay – and that the future of this sprinkler business was going to be very prosperous. As has been the case with the additional two acquisitions that followed quickly after.
And that’s why the event on Saturday 15th October was so important. Yes, it was about celebrating success – but more importantly it was about a genuinely heart-felt thank you to the people that made it all possible.
A thank you for loyalty, commitment and support – not just for Senseco and our three additional businesses that now form our group, but for each other. For friendships – some 25 years, and still going strong.
When you have a work family like we have, and we all pull together with a common goal to achieve and support – targets and business plans look after themselves.
None of our competition does work family better than we do.
It cannot be said enough…thank you.
Senseco Newsletter - NHS Framework and Healthcare Applications Guide
Senseco Awarded NHS Framework.
Healthcare Applications Guide
Senseco are pleased to announce after a detailed application and review process we have been successful in becoming NHS Shared Business Services Framework Agreement Suppliers. This means any NHS or Government Authority can engage with us directly knowing we have met all of the stringent requirements. This will minimise the need for Pre Qualifications Questionnaires and show they are working within regulatory guidelines they need to follow with an approved company.
Becoming an NHS Framework supplier is particularly important as we have a long history of working on NHS / Healthcare premises, this further shows our commitment to the sector. We have also produced a Hospital / Healthcare Applications Guide.
Hospital and Healthcare Applications Guide
Hospitals require reliable fire and security systems and competent companies to install and maintain them to ensure they remain operational and compliant.
Senseco Systems have a wealth of experience in the hospital and healthcare sector. We have maintained, installed and upgraded many fire systems in hospitals with minimal disruption to patients, staff and operations. We even offer site-based engineers to deal with any critical issues, as well as carrying out ongoing maintenance.
Minimising false alarms
False alarms can be disruptive, costly and lead to complacency in the event of a real fire. In a hospital environment there are added challenges of disruption to operations, patients, and the risks of moving them.
We can advise on a range of measures to reduce false alarms and even offer systems where we guarantee against them with our FAITH (False Alarm Immune TecHnology) guarantee. Click here for more information

Keeping people safe
Systems need to keep staff and patients safe, and allow for safe movement of patients or evacuation. There are specific standards to meet for fire doors linked to fire systems, and escape routes must have smoke detection, be well lit and protected from fire.
We provide compliant BS7273-4 fire systems, the standard for door release mechanisms. Our intelligent emergency lighting systems are constantly monitored and tested to ensure they operate when you really need them, and we provide sprinkler and water mist systems to ensure evacuation routes are protected from fire and are safe.
Systems visibility across your site
Most hospitals are spread over multiple buildings, so control room visibility across the whole site is critical.
We offer computer graphics packages that connect to different systems in different buildings, so everything is shown in a consistent format. We also offer a range of systems that can give notification of fire events to selected users’ mobile phones.
Compliance and competence
Fire Legislation means the building owner or employer is responsible for carrying out a Fire Risk Assessment and employing competent persons / companies to install and maintain fire systems. Using an accredited / certificated company demonstrates you comply with the legal requirements.
Senseco are LPS1014 certificated to design, install, commission, and maintain fire systems. Our sprinkler division are LPS1048 certificated, and our gas suppression division are certificated to LPS1204.
Flexible maintenance with minimal disruption
It is important that any maintenance regime fully tests the systems installed with minimal disruption to patients and the operation of the hospital. Many hospitals also have a mix of different systems, old and new to be maintained. As an independent company we can support a wide range of systems and provide detailed service records for compliance and reassurance.
We can offer maintenance packages with periodic visits or site based engineers.
