Our Fire Capability
When it comes to choosing the right fire system for you, we know that safety and compliance are key. At the core are the aims of protecting people and property from harm and complying with the law. You can trust us to deliver a system that meets these requirements, and more.
While prevention is crucial, we have the expertise to ensure you have the most reliable system in place should a fire break out.
We understand the importance of good design, technically-advanced products, expert installation and commissioning, and, of course, thorough maintenance.
And because every business is different, we will work with you to provide a system that is tailored to you, whether you’re looking for a new installation, a system upgrade, service and maintenance, or a combination of these services.
Fire Detection and Alarm
It’s vital that you can rely on your fire detection and alarm system to protect your building and assets, and, ultimately, save people’s lives.
The system must detect fire quickly and warn occupants of the potential danger. At the same time, you need a system that isn’t susceptible to false alarms.
There is a wide variety of systems on the market, so it’s crucial that you receive the best advice and a system that suits your needs.
Thanks to our experience, we can offer you a choice of new systems that use the latest technology, or provide advice on maintaining, upgrading or replacing your existing system.
Senseco Systems has a highly-skilled engineering team, with many of our engineers having worked in the fire industry for more than 25 years.
Fire Detection and Alarm
We pride ourselves on our ability to find the solution that our competitors may miss. And we’re confident there isn’t a fire alarm system in the UK that we haven’t worked on, supported or offered cost-effective life cycle solutions on.
We work with leading manufacturers such as Siemens and Notifier and we’re experienced in “standard” fire systems such as Kentec, Morley, Advanced, Gent, Apollo and Hochiki, but our experience goes much further.
We have specialist knowledge and programming ability, which means we can work with fire systems including the old Wormald PBS, Simplex and Edwards EST3. Plus, you can benefit from our experience on the old closed protocol ADT Minerva, Protec and Siemens AlgoRex products. For all of these, we can provide migration to modern, open protocol systems.
Fire Detection and Alarm
We offer service and maintenance, and also have a dedicated team able to provide condition surveys, reports and life cycle migration. System Migrations – read more
And when it comes to new systems, we have partnerships with leading manufacturers, so you’re guaranteed the right system to meet your needs and budget.
What’s more, as an independent company we’re not tied to a single manufacturer or product range. Everything we install can be supported by us or other fire companies ‒ it’s your choice.
Specialist Detection Including Video
We offer a broad range of specialist detection systems, designed to perfectly fit in with your requirements.
We will help you to choose a system that suits your environment, whether it’s dusty, dirty or a wide open space, for example. We also take into account the type of fires you potentially need protection from and the risks of false alarm.
We can also provide a range of multi-criteria sensors with smoke, heat and carbon monoxide elements to respond to a wide range of fires, while being resilient against false alarms. An example is the ASA detector, where we offer our FAITH guarantee against false alarms.
We also offer solutions for large open areas as described on the next page.
Specialist Detection Including Video
We offer a range of beam detectors for large open spaces. Many of these now use technology to self-align and have accessible controls to overcome traditional problems of detectors going out of alignment.
Another system is video smoke detection. This is ideal for large open areas, such as railway stations, factories, warehouses, ventilation ducts or even outdoor areas. Video smoke detection provides you with an early warning in environments where installing traditional smoke detectors close enough to the fire source would be difficult or almost impossible.
Whatever the application, we can provide a detection method or system to suit you.
False Alarm Immunity - Faith Guarantee
We know that reliability is important to you. You need to be sure your fire system is fit for purpose and not prone to false alarms. After all, false alarms cost money and could lead to people ignoring a genuine alarm.
And that’s why we have introduced our exclusive FAITH (False Alarm Immune TecHnology) guarantee. The bold gesture represents our confidence in the technology we use and our high level of service.
The guarantee applies to any customer who has a Siemens Cerberus Pro fire system with ASA detection installed and subsequently maintained by Senseco Systems. We will pay a £1,000 cash penalty if the equipment is proved to be responsible for a false fire alarm as per our official definition:
- Any non-emergency alarm that is neither manual nor malicious in origin and generates an evacuation and/or fire brigade attendance.
False Alarm Immunity - Faith Guarantee
By keeping it simple, we can focus on our objective: to raise standards and eliminate false alarms.
There are just six qualifying conditions attached to this guarantee, as follows:
- The system installed must be Siemens Cerberus Pro with ASA detectors designed, installed and commissioned by Senseco Systems Ltd
- A service agreement with Senseco Systems Ltd must be in place
- The system must be compliant with BS5839-1:2017 and meet our LPS1014 requirements
- The guarantee will commence following a three-month monitoring period
- Any changes of use of the premises must be reported to Senseco Systems and the system altered accordingly
- Finally, to ensure correct management of the system, all operators must have training, provided free by Senseco Systems Ltd
Aspirating Smoke Detection
This type of smoke detection was originally used for high sensitivity environments such as data centres, but is, in fact, suitable for a wide variety of applications and for different reasons.
Aspirating Smoke Detectors (ASD) are ideal if you need very early warning, enhanced smoke sensitivity, or as an alternative to point or beam smoke detectors.
There are specific industry guidelines in the FIA Code of Practice for Design, Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of Aspirating Smoke Detector Systems.
The code also refers to the common motivators for using ASD, such as extreme environments, restricted or difficult access, and exceptional ceiling heights and heat barriers. Other reasons include aesthetics, risk of mechanical damage, anti-vandal systems and hazardous environments.
Aspirating Smoke Detection
There is a means to define any ASD system encompassing all the essential elements in such a way that any individual system can be described in a single unambiguous phrase. The definition takes into account:
- Class of the detector (Class A – Very High Sensitivity, Class B – Enhanced Sensitivity, Class C – Normal Sensitivity)
- Type or method of sampling (e.g. primary or secondary sampling)
- Compliance route (either prescriptive or performance based)
- Prime motivators for using an ASD system
An example of such statements is:
- Class A detector providing primary sampling for Very Early Warning to meet Test E.2
We’re experienced in the use and application of ASD systems.
Wireless Smoke Detection
There are many environments where it’s difficult to install cabling to fire detection and alarm devices. For these areas, radio/wireless detection systems are ideal.
A heritage site is an example of where this type of detection can be used. Here, cabling would damage the building fabric or spoil the appearance of the site. Other examples are external plant rooms and areas that are difficult to access, where the high cost of running cabling is likely to be a major issue. And wireless systems are also suitable for temporary systems.
At Senseco Systems we work with leading manufacturers, which means we can offer you a range of products and systems as described on the next page.
Wireless Smoke Detection
Some systems are wireless only, whereby panels communicate with each other wirelessly. Plus, all field devices including detectors, manual call points and sounders are wireless.
Another option is a “hybrid” system, which features panels with hard wired loops. This type of system can have standard devices and radio gateway modules on the loops. The radio gateway module will then “talk” to the wireless devices.
Many modern wireless systems use “mesh” technology, whereby each wireless device also acts as a radio booster and alternative signal path, providing greater resilience and reliability.
Fire Maintenance
Our team has serviced and maintained just about every fire system installed in the UK, regardless of its origin.
As well as the wide range of systems we install such as Siemens and Notifier, we’re experienced in “standard” fire systems such as Kentec, Morley, Advanced, Gent, Apollo and Hochiki but our expertise goes much further.
We can work with the old Wormald PBS, Simplex and Edwards EST3 fire systems, where specialist knowledge and programming ability is essential. Plus, we can take on closed protocol systems, while at the same time clearly defining the support we can give. We’re ready to share with you our vast knowledge on all fire alarm and specialist detection systems.
With Senseco Systems you’re guaranteed a tailor-made maintenance package that suits all of your fire needs. All maintenance will be in line with the latest standards such as BS5839-1, along with our LPS1014 and BAFE accreditations and procedures.
