Senseco COVID-19 Newsletter – March 2020

We are here to help during the COVID-19 Crisis

Senseco has recently updated it’s COVID-19 Coronavirus Policy, we are closely monitoring Government and Public Health England advice and updating our team regularly. The welfare of our staff and our clients is of paramount importance.  As a business we have taken steps to mitigate risk to our staff which can be found on our full COVID-19 Statement.

Senseco will continue to play our part in keeping the key parts of the UK safe from fire and security risks. We understand the importance of the role we play and the reliance our clients place on us, and we have to pull together to assist the country, where we can. Nurses, doctors, and medical teams are in hospitals, needing fire and security coverage.  Some children and teachers are in schools, needing fire and security coverage, data centres need to keep internet and financial services operating. Buildings of high national importance are empty or have minimal occupancy and maintaining working fire and security systems is massively important.

As such we are here to support you. We will continue to provide our 24 / 7 / 365 call out facility for emergency call outs which is available by ringing 0845 644 2888.  We will continue to provide planned preventative maintenance and remedial works on fire and security systems, which is as important as ever in critical buildings and buildings with no or low occupancy. We understand the importance of ensuring systems continue to be maintained and looked after to ensure they are fully operational, you remain compliant with fire safety legislation and your insurance cover is not affected.  We are here to help and will be as flexible as possible to meet your needs in these unprecedented times of difficulty.

At this challenging time we would also like to pass our thanks to our incredible team that have continued to adapt to various changes and continue to support Senseco Systems fully.  We would also like to pass our sincere best wishes to our clients, suppliers and their families and wish you all good health and safety at this challenging time.

FIA (Fire Industry Association) and Government Guidance

The FIA, who are our industry body, continue to be a useful source of information during this ever changing situation.  They understand the vital role of keeping fire systems operational at this time and recently sought government clarification as below:

“Security & fire safety personnel can play a vital role at this time of national challenge. People working in these sectors who are essential to national infrastructure are “Key Workers” for the purposes of the Government’s guidance on COVID-19”
James Brokenshire, Minister of State for Security at the Home Office

The FIA are continuing to provide updated information and clarifications on certain roles and responsibilities in our industry which are considered essential.  To go to the FIA website and for further information click here
