With recent high-profile fires, the issues of fire detection and fire suppression have never been more prominent in people’s minds. The need for compliant systems to effectively detect fires and suppression systems to control or extinguish them to protect people and property is of paramount importance.
This presentation is in two parts and looks at water mist systems as an alternative to sprinkler systems, giving the pros and cons of each. The main subject is the updated fire detection and alarm standards BS5839-1:2017. It gives an overview of the changes to the standard and what you need to be aware of.
