How VESDA Works
The smoke detection process of a VESDA unit is simple.
When the VESDA system is running, the high-efficiency aspirator continuously draws air into a distributed pipe network. Then, the air passes through a two-stage filter:
- Removing dust, dirt and other debris from the collected air
- Providing an additional clean-air supply to prevent contamination in the optical surfaces, minimise nuisance alarms, ensure efficient detection and prolong the system’s life
When smoke is mixed with the air that enters the laser detection chamber, the highly sensitive receiver system detects the smoke and sends a signal to the system. Advanced VESDA technology processes and presents the progression of the fire through a visual display. The system then communicates this data to fire alarm system to warn you about a potential fire.
