The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order

• Who is Responsible For Fire Safety on Your Site?

• Do You Know Your Responsibilities Under The Fire Safety Order & Do You
Know The Consequences If You Don’t Comply?

UK fire safety legislation means the responsible person i.e. a building owner / employer or person who has control over the premises (such as a facilities management company) has many responsibilities.  These include carrying out a risk assessment, implementing procedures, taking general fire precautions & appointing competent persons to carry out fire safety work including maintaining all fire safety equipment.

Competence can be assured by employing third party accredited companies (such as BAFE) & this ensures you comply with the law.  Various companies & individuals have already been charged for breaches of the fire safety order ranging from fines to prison sentences.

This presentation gives an overview of all of the above points & current legislation with particular emphasis on the duties of the responsible person.
