The Mall Shopping Centre – Maidstone
The Mall Maidstone is a busy shopping centre in Kent which had a 32-year old conventional fire detection system which they wanted to replace with a new, addressable system which had to be versatile, modular and future proof …and fit the budget.
The old fire detection system had to be replaced in phases, without interrupting business operations. At the same time, the safety of the Mall and its occupants had to be guaranteed throughout the project.

Doosan had previously experienced damage to their computer hard drives caused by the noise of their inert gas system being released, this is a phenomena which is being increasing recognised & experienced worldwide.
Senseco retrofitted the extinguishing system with Siemens Sinorex Silent nozzles, who’s design is able to reduce the physical sound energy of a gas discharge in a similar way to the silencer on a car exhaust. This provided a cost effective solution, with minimal disruption to ensure the critical processes were safeguarded.

I would like to compliment Senseco’s senior engineer on this project, who over the last week or so has approached the issues we have been facing here in Luton with a professional and diligent attitude. Not only has he worked to resolve our issue, but the manner he has conducted himself is a true credit to Senseco.
As a client, one of the key factors during any works is communication and again I would say that your senior engineer, has been both reassuring and informative throughout the whole process.
